dm-45 review
« on: February 23, 2016, 04:36:08 am »
I got this dmm for christmas. So far I like it's cat3 600 volts auto ranging , the only problem is that it's cat3.  The reason cat3 is a problem is the fuses (400 ma and 10 amp)are expensive (luckily I have not blown one yet) . (the AA battery is for scale)

No that is not a re-branded Brymen. Many of the Greenlee meters are, but not that one.

I don't see any PTCs/MOVs (unless they're on the other side)...

I believe this is a rebadged Appa 70 series multimeter variant. Appa used to make a lot of Greenlee's stuff (maybe they still do along with Brymen, I'm not sure).

EDIT @OP does it say Made in Taiwan on the back?

The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." -George Carlin

A fellow Canadian did a review and teardown of this meter.

He says he paid $100 CDN which is probably with HST, PST and GST (taxes for non Canadians).  A bit pricey for $100 IMHO.
