« on: July 20, 2017, 07:59:53 pm »
Saw this Agilent U1242A multimeter for sale on eBay.

It has a space-themed skin. What is that ?

If we could get skins for the EEVblog multimeter, maybe Dave's pic... na some hotties maybe lol

I got 4 skins with U1252B, but my meter is from 2012.  They came in a sealed bag with installation instruction.  Here is the first paragraph from the installation instruction:
"It is our pleasure to offer-not one, but four-FREE limited edition, thematic skins for your new handheld multimeter."

The sealed bag with the skins has the part number on it: U1252-84326

It sounds like 1 skin is or was standard accessory.

Well now that's a whole heap of awesome and a nice business opportunity. I wonder if one of the guys who print vinyl fascias for knackered old CB radios would be able to do that...

I came across a web service the other day that will skin anything, you submit a template and graphics, not sure where I saw it. They just print vinyl and plotter cut it, like car wraps, the tech is getting more prevalent and cheap. Ot sure if they are laser cutting yet though.
