BM235 incorrect amp readings
« on: September 12, 2021, 10:07:29 pm »
My BM235 is currently reading very high amperages when measuring just a typical AAA battery. It reads over 4A.  An 18650 Samsung 26F reads over 9A. What is wrong?! Help! :-[

Well, assuming you are shorting out the battery with the DMM, that is how much current it can generate given the low resistance of the test leads and the DMM.  Don't do that.  Place the device that normally would consume the battery in series with the DMM, then take the measurement.

What on earth would you expect to see if you try to measure amps across a battery? It's a good thing you didn't try to measure the amps out of a wall socket.
