Fluke VT02 IS2 file format specification?
« on: March 19, 2014, 10:59:26 pm »
Does someone have a file format specification for the VT02 IR-Thermometer? Their software "SmartView" is rubbish: when exporting images as PNG, it doesn't export the numbers on the temperature scale on the side, it is just a nice color bar, and it lacks even basic features like clicking in the image to get the temperature at this point. I don't know why this needs a 200 MB install package. So would be interesting to write my own software for it, which should be easy with Qt.

PS: I asked the Fluke support to send me the specification and first they wrote me an eMail that I have to write my eMail question again, with full name and address (this might be a silly German law (I wrote to the German Fluke support) they misinterpreted: a company has to provide this information in all eMails, but not a private person). I did this, then they answered that they can't provide the specification for me. Any further eMail questions *why* they can't provide it were ignored  |O

Hi

I'm working in a file reader for a IS2 Format, I used reverse engineering to discover how my Ti-400 Save the files and then SmartView read the file.

I have a lot of work to final a stable version in Python, but when I finished I will send you my file reader.

Regards

I had about the same problem with vt02, really vt02-04 images contains more information with respect it gives, but
it is difficult to get informations from is2 fluke file and probabily illigal without permission.
Finally I decided to realize a sw that works directly on the images produced by smartview to get and mark the
the temperatures of the thermal map. In practice, when the markers central/max/min are activated on vt02 camera,
it get the central temperature on the memorized image but after that, it is possible take note of the temperature of the
minimum marker in the same image shifting the central point camera. In this way, because the scale is continue, by the color
scale I get the entire map temperatures.
