DC coupled High Bandwidth passive Probe
« on: June 18, 2024, 09:42:12 am »
Hy, I am looking for a DC coupled high Bandwidth passive Probe.

Basically the 12GHz P20B from Auburn Technology is close to what I am looking for, but I would prefer DC coupling.

Any hints?

So far I found:
Rohde & Schwarz RT-ZZ80, but I guess it is very expensive (~5 or more of the P20B, I asked for quote)
900 "PicoConnect" Series of passsive Probes by PicoTech (~2 as expensive as P20B)

Hy, I am looking for a DC coupled high Bandwidth passive Probe.

My definition of "high" is 100kHz, so virtually all probes will be OK.

Alternatively, replace the adjective with a number :)

Search terms "resistive divider probe" "Z0 probe".

I have several HP10020A probes, and like them :)
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

Ok, more Detail of desired Probe:

Bandwidth 5GHz or above
Division 10:1 -> 450Ohm tip resistor
or Division 20:1 -> 950Ohm tip resistor
preferable DC coupled

Ah, ok both seem to be discontinued, that´s why I didn´t find them at tek / keysight product pages.

But they are both available at used test equipment vendors.

Andrew Zonenberg has created few open source probes including Z0. It is called AKL-PT1 and has over 6 GHz BW.

They seems to be out of stock but You can contact him or DIY.

Hi Andree Henkel,

" Bandwidth 5GHz or above
  Division 10:1 -> 450Ohm tip resistor
  DC coupled "

PSPL 5520C Voltage Pick-Off. 20 GHz BW with 1:10 Attenuation. DC-Coupled. A cost effective alternative to Tektronix P6150 + 013-0251-00/01 and P6156 + 013-0237-00 combinations.
