DAQ tool - where to buy
« on: September 02, 2021, 11:52:15 am »
Hi,

I am looking for a "simple" DAQ tool which can accept a 16 bit digital parallell input (data) and with a CLK input which captures data on clock edge.
The DAQ should also have a counter which increments for each sample point.

The DAQ tool should have a USB port and PC software which logs the data in a simple text file with "counter value, data value".

The DAQ should handle a sample rate of about 1 Mega samples per second.

Is there any such tools available?

Perhaps FTDI has some plug and play chips for this type of requirement?

Or perhaps normal logic analyzers can be set up to handle this.

Sounds like you are looking for a logic analyser with state analysis (external clock) capability.
But maybe a standard logic analyser would suffice.
Cheapest option is to use sigrok PulseView and the little cypress usb chips.
You can write your own decoder in Python if you wish.
