Cosmetic defect Fluke 289?

Hi everyone,
It’s a while that I follow this forum and decided to register to ask this question.
I recently bought a (new) Fluke 289 and I noticed that the “rubber” shell looks a bit rough. This is very difficult to explain so I will attach some pictures.
Also your new 289 shows this? Am I complaining too much? (It is an expensive meter).

Thanks a lot!

Welcome! I would not worry about it (unless it looks worse than the photos show).

Looks as if the mold used is wearing a bit, but purely cosmetic.

Never saw that on any used or new Fluke meters
just saw a 289 in a cal shop yesterday, clean and even surface all around the case body ??
Is it only on the top/front case only or the bottom case too ?

It is mostly visible on the top half part of the casing. Will see if Amazon can replace it (it’s a week old). Probably there are more meters in the batch like this but we’ll see.

Mine was made in USA. Only one side minor marks.

How do I check? I only see a sticker on the box saying "Land of origin: United States".

From me it looks like the surface was clean with an abrasive/chemical solution and that is the reaction of it, but I may be wrong.
But from the looks of it, don't bother is just cosmetic. It doesn't affect the performance or security in any form.

Thank you all for your replies. I decided to send a mail to Fluke and see if they would send a shell replacement, if not I will leave it as is.
