Welcome to the world of currency cross conversions ! Currency rate hedging need be built into pricing too or we lose money on the next shipment we buy.
Trio's pricing is similar to ours in NZD which is a bit weaker again against the USD.
It's just now it is.
Good to know. I just figured Siglent and others adjusted their prices for the global market so everyone was on a flat playing field. I once had a business where I bought computers wholesale and sold them online. I only operated in America so the thought of currency rate hedging never entered my mind, since it was never a factor for me.
Thanks for clarifying the situation!
We are compelled to sell at no less than US market prices in our part of the world however unlike NA we must also cover shipping and import charges whereas in continental NA only countries outside US borders will suffer additional border charges. Local sales taxes are another thing entirely and bump up the price further for the private buyer while most businesses can claim it back.
With the world so small now despite the current hiccup it's little wonder why some buyers source direct from Asia however most countries are tightening up the borders due to the import taxes their gubbermints have been missing out on. Still, those buyers need consider supporting their local importer for best long term product support.
A decade ago I snuck a few in before getting properly into being a distributor but that door has long closed and I pay my fair share to get anything here now.
