Configuring/Reading Siglent SDG10xx Signal Generator via PC

I would like to get any simple example of configuring SDG1010 (or similar) model via PC.
I do not want to use LabView. Ideally, I would like to use Visual Basic for simplicity, but any language is fine, once it becomes clear how the communication with the device occurs.

Usually, I have all my instruments with a serial interface and I do not have to care about software details, just read the syntax at the manual and it is done after a couple of hours. Unfortunately, this is the only equipment with non-serial (NI-VISA compatible?) interface.

My goal is to programmatically setup the frequency/amplitude of a sinusoidal wave at CH1 and CH2 and read what I configured to make sure that the device was properly configured (imho, this is a good practice regarding remote controlling instruments).
