Differential Probes for Rigol 1054Z
« on: March 25, 2020, 03:47:13 pm »
Anyone have any recommendations/thoughts on a nice differential probe for a Rigol 1054Z? I noticed a McSig for $180, which is about as much as I'm willing to spend for something I would rarely use.

I get so tired always worrying if something I'm probing is gonna set up a ground loop. Especially now that I'm getting boomer brain and forgetting how I wired stuff  :D

Thanks.

Go with Micsig. They are good.

Thanks. As long as it's what all the cool people use I'm happy.   :D

BTW much thanks 2N3055...

Just got my Mcsig probe today. Wow. Nice.

Just make sure when it's lying on the bench you don't rest your arm on it and press the x500 button by mistake  :D

But wow. Like the Brits would say "that's a nice bit of kit". And the slick plastic case.

Such a relief to not always worry and try to figure out if there are any hidden ground loops. Now I just probe like a maniac.  :-+

Those that know their history are doomed to repeat it.  It just takes longer than those who don't know their history.
