Can SDS1104X-E be unlocked to 200MHz

Hi All,

I'm revolving around SDS1104X-E 4 channel osc. I considered Rigol 4 channel 50 MHz which can be unlocked to 100 MHz. But SDS1104X-E seems more promising to me in case it can be unlocked to 200 MHz BW.

My selection is easy.... if it can be unlocked reliably as Rigol then I'd go with this, for sheer extra BW may come handy when I need.

May I call upon experienced techies here to my rescue

Yes, the SDS1*04X-E range is a 200 MHz design running dual 1 GSa/s ADC's to provide 500 MSa/s with all channels active so to meet Nyquist.

The python scripts have proven to be simpler and less risky than diving into the Linux OS to find keys.

What do you mean by "less risky"?  What are the risks of trying to unlock the scope?

What do you mean by "less risky"?  What are the risks of trying to unlock the scope?

If you are not familiar with Linux there is risk of bricking the scope.
The python key generators generate the license keys based on the model and SN# or in some cases the ScopeID and these generated licenses match the official ones you/we might get from Siglent.

I've tested official against python generated licenses on a few occasions in curiosity and they always match.

The FW links mentioned in those chats does not seem to be working... Could it be that Siglent stopped providing that...
Also, is there a way to come back to original 100MHz state in case Siglent distributes any FW upgrade ?

There's more homework for you to do....not everything is just handed to you on a plate.

Sure, python scripts give the 100 MHz BW code however with Siglent equipment most FW updates are NOT model specific. FW updates are accepted just fine.

You don't need to flash Firmware for increasing the bandwidth. As tautech said, it is easier and safer to run a python script to generate unlock keys.
