Can anybody please explain, how to add new IC by user?
Can you modify existing IC to change supply voltage or pin-out?
Examples:
Existing: 62256 (5V), wanted: 62LV256 (3.3V, max. 4.6V)
Existing: AT29C256 (DIP28), wanted: AT29C256 (PLCC32)

No, I've asked the same question at the big Minipro thread, and the house expert on Minipro hacker, Radioman, said its not possible, as the IC programming method/algorithm is not at the PC'side, but incorporated "inside" the programmer firmware.

What is the menu function "Adding new IC by user" made for?

I would also think that you can add new ICs by yourself, what the reading concerns.
Apart from this, I like the testfunction of several (Logic-) ICs and it would be cool, if there will be an update for additional types of ICs.

I would think this lets you add a new IC which is functionally compatible (voltage and pinout) to an existing one, but with maybe a different part number, and most importantly, a different device ID. That's just a guess though, I've never tried it.

It's just for equivalents. You can't add new algorithms.
