I am now looking for light bulbs. Unfortunately the only bloody place I can find some is RS an that's £7.63 for a 10 pack. I'm still deciding if this is expensive or not as I only need one of them. I did however shake my head slightly at the £6 or so I spent on a pack of fuses and this is the 4th scope that had a blown HT so far so I did ok out of them. Perhaps I should just buy them.

I did consider an LED replacement but that's not in the spirit of such a stately instrument and also the lighting is less diffused and of lower quality.

Do you happen to remember what RS bulb you got (if you did)?  I have the same issue on 2 scopes (465 and 466), and need to replace all the lamps.  How did you manage to take the assembly out to change them?

Cheers
The main difference between an amateur and a pro is that the pro also makes mistakes, but knows how to fix them.
