U1272A Smooth mode - How do the settings work?
« on: June 25, 2014, 02:37:20 pm »
hi all,

Before I spend hours reverse-engineering this...  I wonder if anyone has figured out how the parameter "SMootH" in the menu works.  I found information in a couple of different forums but I think the firmware and user manual have changed since then.  The old references refer to low/med/high but this does not exist anymore.

Generally the mode is disabled or enabled.  disabled has a range from 0001 to 9999, likewise enabled has a range from 0001.E to 9999.E.  "E" standing for enabled.  I understand how to enable and disable and change the setting but I don't know how to choose a value.

Perhaps these are linear ranges of filtering but I would love to have an idea of the filter type and time constants.  Also...why is there a range for disabled.  I would think disabled would just be 'yes' or 'no'.

thanks in advance!

PS link below - not sure if this will work for everyone

user manual - smooth mode is on page 128 as printed or the 148th page of the pdf
