JDS6600 SIGNAL GENERATOR CALABRATION
« on: October 07, 2022, 10:23:13 pm »
I have the JDS6600 Signal Generator.

Please help me.     When I set the JDS6600  to 10.000'000'00mhz on ch 1 or ch 2, it is showing 9.999.99mhz on my frequency counter after 1 hour warm up. It should read the same 10.000.00mhz. If I set the jds6600 to 10.000'028'00mhz then it will show the same on my frequency counter 10.000.00mhz

How do i adjust the jds6600 so it reads the same on the frequency counter.

Assume you mean 9.99999MHz?
What's you counter and what it's accuracy?

Both the WFG and the counter have tolerances in their accuracy.  The JDS6600 is +/- 20ppm.

I don't know what you counter is rated at, but you are showing it has 3 digits less resolution than the WFG.  Is the right?

In any case, it looks to me as though you are fairly well within tolerances.  Expecting them to be exactly the same is asking a little much.

The only way you will see that is on much more costly equipment where both the frequency counter and the WFG can be driven by the same external reference.
