Fluke T6-1000
« on: October 04, 2018, 02:24:23 am »
Has anyone use this tester and how it is ?

Key features
Be safer: Measure voltage to 1000 V ac through the open fork, without test leads.
Be faster: No need to open covers or remove wire nuts.
Be more efficient: Simultaneously measure voltage and current.
Be everywhere: 17.8 mm open fork is widest in the industry; measure up to 200 A on 4/0 wires (120 mm2).
Go beyond simple detection. Actually measure ac voltage and current values without test leads.

Thanks

The non-contact voltage measurement IMO, is just not robust enough.  For get the AVE part where he tries to use it with a current clamp adapter.   The meter seemed to work well until I applied some perturbed waveforms.   I tried some phase to phase measurements with a VFD that was running at a fairly high frequency and could not get the meter to read.   After adjusting the carrier to a much lower frequency, the meter would work just fine.

I made a playlist for the T6.  You may find that here:

I did try to test the current through the meter various ways.   At one point I placed my hand in series with the meter while I pushed it to where it starts to conduct....    Don't try this experiment at home!!!  :-DD
