Bitching about UK suppliers
« on: January 11, 2015, 11:25:52 am »

I've been trying to find a decent UK supplier of budget level scopes for a while now.

I'm looking for something like a Siglent or a Rigol 1054Z but so far I haven't found anyone who holds stock.

A company up in Teeside took my money for a Siglent scope and told me later there was a 5 week wait on new stock despite their website saying they had stock !

I've been visiting the UK Rigol supplier website for a number of weeks now and it seems that whenever I have visited they never have any stock.

Google hasn't shown me any other viable suppliers that actually physically have the item on the shelf  |O

Can anyone offer any advice to me ?

Apologies mods if I posted this in the wrong forum.

Nobody has stock of the DS1054Z, they can't keep up.

Try Batronix, they're EU based and offer free shipping.

Phone them up, I found that sometimes their online inventory doesn't match what they really have.

I've used both Lambda Photo and Telonic (Rigol-uk), both good on the phone for sales.

I've seen Batronix but at first I was reluctant to order from them being abroad. I'm guessing then they are reliable ?

Have used them several times and they've been great. Also had some knobs fall off a couple of 1052's I bought from there and they sent replacements in the post

I recently got a 1054Z after a 4 week delay from Telonic (Rigol UK importer). They are cheaper than importing from Germany.

Give them a phone call as stock appears to be arriving every couple of weeks, so the wait might not be too long.

Rigol UK told me that they expect stock in February.
If you place order they don't take the money until shipped.

So,  I joined the 1054z club too :)

Yep, I ordered a DS1054Z from Telonic (Rigol UK) mid-Nov, it was delivered mid Dec 2014.

The only slight niggle was that when I ordered they couldn't tell me when they would be getting stock in, but I was happy to wait.

I've ordered 1054z at http://www.meilhaus.de/ at 13 Dec, UPS told me that they gonna deliver it on Jan 14. It was the shortest queue from tons of EU shops, and more important - free EU shipping ;)

Just called Telonic and they told me they had a few left on their next batch due in a few weeks, they also said they would make sure the firmware was up to date before they shipped it. Sounds good to me..

Always worthwhile to check whichever scope you are getting that the seller is a manufacturers authorised seller otherwise you will not get a Uk warranty.

Many Ebay scopes are from China based sellers and so any warranty work means you have to return it to China.
Genuine UK and Eu agents will not look at those units if faulty.
