Korad ka3305d or ka3305p. Mine works quite well. And 3 channels are useful

KORAD KA3005D has capacitor on the output, so it has some issues with current stabilization. But this is really best middle class PSU.  :-+

I think that most of the psu in this price range has some capacitance at the output. Need only to be careful to always use the turn on/off function instead of live connecting the things. There can be some problems also on repentine current draw changes

OP should first specify required number of channels, output voltage (range) and power, and if the acceptable amount of output noise will permit a switcher. After that, suggestions make sense and could possibly lead in a different direction...

Most multichannel PSU's can be seriesed to give at least 60V and some can go into series mode with just a press of a button.

I like this better than the Korad, but I tend to be an odd duck  ;D

SIGLENT SPD1000X Series Programmable DC Power Supply

Only single channel, but very precise and ultra low ripple.
Available in 2 varieties:
  • SPD1168X: 16 V / 8 A,total power up to 128 W
  • SPD1305X: 30 V / 5 A,total power up to 150 W

Has 5 digit Voltage, 4 digit Current Display, Minimum Resolution: 1 mV/1 mA
I think it looks sharp on the bench with it's color LCD display.

I already have a 3 channel boat anchor, so I have my eye on this and other similar products, so thought I would share. It's great if you don't need multiple channels.

For my 10th Birthday I got a Fisher Price oscilloscope!

The OP is from India, there, any "high tech" even such as bench power supply, is considered an expensive item.

What you guys are suggesting, reduce the price tag to about 33% to 50%, as India will put quite a hefty import tax for such merchandise, guess where did I learn that.  ::)

So, for $250 budget, if imported, then the realistic price that we're going to suggest maybe about $75 to $100 price level of merchandise.  :P
