Tektronix TDS 340A tips?
« on: November 23, 2023, 02:54:02 am »
I just bought my first oscilloscope, a Tektronix TDS 340A, and need some tips for it. It's "for parts" but passes all self tests, was willing to take the gamble since it's cheap ($70 + $30 shipping USD), just missing probes, which I got some cheap-ish ones (adafruit). Planning on opening it up and cleaning all the plastics and cleaning out the floppy drive. Anything I should do while I'm in it? I'm pretty comfortable with doing some in depth repairs on it, and honestly would like to keep the CRT as it's got a certain vibe to it that I like, though it's a little dim so it might be going out. Also I am definitely keeping the floppy drive as long as it works, the sound of one really is what does it for me. Thanks in advance! :-+
