Tektronix 2445B vertical problem (solved)

I was using my 2445B today and noticed that when using the vertical position knob that the amplitude of the waveform gets larger as it is moved towards the bottom of the display. This happens on both channels 1 and 2 but not on 3 and 4. See attached pictures. Any ideas what the problem is ?

I would start by checking the power supplies first. If that is within reasonable limits. You probably have a faulty channel switch hybrid

It's a common malfunction in the 2445/2465 series.
