Hello all,
I recently bought the Aritsu VNA-DL 1-8800 MHz for around 400 USD plus tax/customs from Russia and would like to share some results:
- measures S11 and S21
- plastic housing, doesnt get too warm, calibration seems to be quite stable over time
- measured output power varies from - 20 dBm to -10 dBm. At 8800 MHz it is down to -30 dBm.
- I calibrated using SOL+T method, result is nice
but if I measure short behind a short coax cable I see ripples
that were not able to remove by adding an electrical delay
- measured short behind a long cable (1m) and the ripples grow...
- measured a 3 dB attenuator in S21 without adding a cable, see some ripples
- Software has the basic functions but doesnt allow to zoom in more than 5 dB.
My guess is that for 400 USD they use a wheatstone bridge as coupler which limits the calibration performance.
But 400$ for a 8.8GHz VNA....
