Teklocity High Voltage Differential Probe
« on: May 09, 2016, 04:34:47 pm »
We have a Teklocity High Voltage Differential Probe where the power connector has broken off.  It still operates on batteries, however they don't last very long and I question the accuracy as the batteries get low.

Searching with Google, the company seems to have disappeared.  Was it purchase by someone else?  I would like to get the unit repaired but don't know where to go.

I would try to repair it myself, but the guts of the unit are encased in steel so it would take a lot of bending and prying to get the PCB where the connector was attached.

Thanks in advance for any options.

I'm not familiar with Teklocity but this probe looks like to be a Sapphire Instruments SI-9101 (http://www.sapphire.com.tw).
They are the OEM and the probe is sold under various names. You can try contacting them, but in my experience they're not very helpful.

Edit: Or rather a SI-9010.

If it designed not to be opened, don't expect any repair service. They might offer it, a kind of actually full replacement in which case it is cheaper to just buy another.

Just thought I'd check that maybe the company got bought buy a larger one, but it does appear to be just a rebadge like the above poster suggested.

I think for now I'm just going to get some high quality rechargeable batteries and go that route for now.

Thanks for the help.
