New Teledyne T3DMM series bench meters
« on: February 17, 2019, 04:19:25 pm »
I was browsing Distrelec and came across some meters I hadn't seen before, from Teledyne. Looks like they were announced about a month ago. Anyone heard anything about them?

Funny how much it looks like a Siglent SDM3045X  >:D

http://www.siglent.com/ENs/pdxx.aspx?id=1567&tid=37&T=2

Edit: And obviously the 5.5/6.5 digit version - SDM3055/SDM3065X
http://www.siglent.com/ENs/pdxx.aspx?id=1910&T=2&tid=37

Even the measurement value on the T3DMM fact sheet front page (and some others) seem to be taken directly from the SDM3065X Data Sheet (pg 3 “Analog” Bar Display)
Marketing were being a little lazy it seems!  http://old.siglentamerica.com/USA_website_2014/Documents/DataSheet/SDM3065X_DataSheet_DS06036-E02F.pdf

Thanks! I think you nailed it!

I'd actually kinda suspected it was a rebadge, after seeing in a data sheet or something that the user interface is switchable between English and Chinese.

The quick start manuals are essentially identical, just a search-and-replace on the model number and swapped out images:

It'll be curious to see whether Teledyne will add any unique features in firmware, or whether it'll just stay with the Siglent firmware. (Or worse, not even receive Siglent's own updates.)

Hi,

LeCroy has rebadged almost the whole X-Series of Siglent ... even up to the Manuals.
IIrc only the Scope manuals differ by 2pages where LeCoy dismissed with one minor function.
Apart from the hefty price-upping all else is 100% the same.  :palm:
And yes, the RS rebranded devices are also alot costier.  :--

regards
Calvin

..... it builds character!
