Fluke Discontinued Dates (Warranty-Related Question)
« on: September 10, 2015, 02:24:14 pm »
Is there a place on the Fluke website to view the dates when equipment is discontinued or out of production?
Or a place where I can view if I registered my Fluke 189?

The warranty says they will honor the repairs for up to 7 years after they discontinue a product, but I have no idea when my multimeter was discontinued or if I registered my purchase.

I called into the Fluke to ask. They said the unit was in warranty, so I sent it in for repair.

Then, someone from Fluke emailed me and said the tech has the final determination of warranty status, and the unit was out of warranty.

I asked why I was told incorrectly the first time, and they didn't answer the question and told me to show proof of purchase within the last 10 years. When I asked again, they said the person on the phone made a mistake.

I asked when the Fluke 189 was discontinued, and have not heard back yet.

Fluke 287/289 which supposedly replace the 189 was launched around 2007/2008. So yeah, it's been 7 years since then.
