Can anyone help me draft a list of oscilloscopes running on Linux/Unix OS?

Thanks!

Did HP/Agilent ever make an oscilloscope running HP-UX? I have definitely seen it on a spectrum analyzer (from the 90s or early 2000s), remember it took >10 minutes to boot, very annoying. I think there were some Unix-based logic analyzers as well.

For sure. Tektronix DAS9200 runs on some kind of Unix (forgot the name).
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

The HP 16700 series logic analyzers ran HP-UX. There were scope cards for this logic analyzer. Also before that the HP 16505A prototype analyzer, which was used together with the 16500-series logic analyzer. The later 16900 series ran Windows.

It wouldn't surprise me if some of the high-end HP scopes, like sampling mainframes, ran HP-UX in the 90s, but I'm not familiar with those.

Yeah almost certain that isn't - boots up too fast, has references to an rtos and someone on the forums has done some reverse engineering too.

Also micsig run Android I think, which is also Linux.

I once ran Knoppix Linux from an installation DVD on my 54846B.
It is weird to see Open Office on a scope screen.  :-)

And running is the completely wrong word. It barely crawls.

The real reason was to save the contents of the hard disk
just before it failed completely.  dd via network.
