Krohn-Hite Model 4200 Oscillator
« on: September 03, 2024, 09:12:20 pm »
This Krohn-Hite model 4200 Oscillator had a blown resistor on the Attenuator PCB. The one resistor that blew, left a scorch mark on the pcb and took out two adjacent resistors. The original resistors are unobtainium but the power of parallel ohmage allows for "good enough" repair. (see pic)
All electrolytic capacitors tested within spec and so none were replaced. The sine wave output is clean.

Before returning this test instrument to the workbench, I restored the worn and missing lettering on the pushbuttons. I used dry transfer decals from the model train hobby.

Now back to service!
