I just read through the calibration manual.
https://download.tek.com/manual/DMM7510-905-01B_Feb_2016_Cal.pdf
Apparently the DMM7510 use artifact calibration, 4 wire short, 10V and 10K ohm for all DC functions (Voltage, resistance and current).
Where did you find this information?
To calibrate this device you need a huge list of equipment listed on page 2-3. And it is clearly more than 10V and 10 kOm.
There are newer instructions.
I was referring to this part of the calibration manual.
It seems it got removed in the updated calibration manual not to mislead people that these are the only things needed for all calibration.
But artefact as in no need for different DC voltages and different resistors for the DC functions. The DC 10 amp range need 2A signal though. And this obviously only covers adjustment, not verification.
Then some AC signals for similar adjustments as where 3458a use exotic thermal converters.
I was just checking which of the needed AC signals I have equipment to generate with sufficient accuracy. The rather difficult 7 amp DCI at 1 kHz requirement is not covered in my arsenal yet....
Does anybody know if its possible to only do DC front calibration (the artefact part ,cal.adjust.dc()) and then save calibration data? Or all steps required? 99.9% of my use would be covered by DC functions excl the 10A DCI range.
The manual hints that all steps are needed:
"Calibration is temporary until you send the cal.save() command. Also, calibration data is not saved if calibration is locked, if invalid data exists, or if all steps were not completed. "
My hope is that "all steps" means all steps in one section. But I think I may be a bit optimistic here... Plan is to try and find out in the comming days.
