Agilent DSOX2000 Screen Capture

okay so this should be simple but for some reason when I try to capture the screen the "press to save" soft key is unhighlighted??

Anyone know how to fix this?

Hi

did you have plugged in a flashdrive? I can't see someone in the Front.
Also you have to select where you want to save the screenprint.

It says save to <None>, because there's nowhere to save the image to.

Either plug in a USB drive, or if you have the LAN module, capture the screen via the Ethernet interface instead.

Agilent has both a pdf and an interactive user manual.
Most of the answers are in there.
These scopes have a lot of features and functions.
Until you are use to the scope you will probably have to refer to the manual frequently.

yes I put in a drive but that doesn't work, read through the user manual but didn't see anything different that I wasn't doing.

Try both front panel and back panel USB.

By the way, I think that the Print (marked green) button does not work with USB flash drives. You must configure the Quick Action button instead.

This is a general comment as I haven't got your unit but a lot of embedded devices are a bit funny about which drives they will work with. Usually you need to use a decent branded drive of a particular size or with a particular chipset.

Right, on my DSO-X 3012A the print button doesn't work for USB drives, but Save/Recall and then "Press to Save" works. I guess can be configured as a quick button, usually I use the network interface anyway and do screenshots on PC anyway.

I think the USB drive has to be formatted with FAT32 and maybe it has problems if it is too big, so partition it.

Thanks!!, yea i just switched it with a different usb key and that worked.   the new Centon usb key i got didn't work so i used some older one and it recognized it.

Your scope has serial number SG52160341. Was it made in Singapore?? My DSOX2002A was made in Malaysia, so the serial number is MYXXXXYYYY. When was your scope bought as new?

Yea ordered it about 3 weeks ago.

Well, according to Agilent web there should be a five years factory warranty for scopes sold as new after 1. 1. 2013.
But when I put your model and serial number here  https://service.home.agilent.com/infoline/public/unit-details.aspx?tab=CURRENTSERVICE
it says three year warranty. Is your scope a second hand buy?? More info here.

The one thing missing from built-in help on pretty much everything is "Why is this thing greyed out/disabled?"

After doing some debugging today I have found that "where are my log files" is also a common omission. 'Turn debugging on' and 'post your log files here' are used in every other sentence though.

Well, write a polite email to your local Agilent distributor and describe the problem. They will probably lengthen the warranty for you and it will be five years then.
This happened to me. My scope had 3 years warranty and now it is 5 years. I bought it from Farnell in about April 2013.
