DSO probes for a LeCroy 9354AL
« on: June 03, 2015, 04:31:14 pm »
Evenin' (o;

Around 10 years ago I bought a used LeCroy 9354AL 4 channel DSO which does still a fantastic job after all this years....maybe also the fact that I like the amber screen which gives a retro feeling ;-)

Recently I bought on Ebay some cheap chinese 500MHz probes....but of course turned out that they are closer to 50MHz than 50MHz...

Which probes would you recommend for the 9354AL which would not dig a too deep hole into my wallet?

cheers
richard

PP006 and PP006A probes on ebay available for under $100 each. That is pretty cheap

I agree with marshallh, get some LeCroy probes. Aside from the common PP006(A) you can sometimes also get PP007 for pretty little money.

As an alternative I would recommend Testec. Good quality at decent prices.

I tried cheap probes before but essentially gave up on them, and now rather buy used brand name probes than new China probes.

I saw those PP006(A) probes on Ebay....not expensive...but pretty much all of them are missing the hook you can plug on onto the tip...

Have to look if I have a similar probe already and if the hook tips are compatible....
