Hey forum,
I discovered that the input terminal plastic of my Agilent 34401A multimeter is cracked at
the V, Ohms jack. The electrical connection is fine, but the copper terminal is loose, and
when I opened the instrument some small red cracked plastic parts fell off.
Does anybody know if it’s possible to replace the plastic block alone, without desoldering
the terminal off the board?
The Agilent part number (34401-62121) is a complete terminal assembly. But as far as I can
see, the block itself is a sandwich construction with two molded plastic halves fitted together
over the copper terminals. The plastic seems to be brittle - it puzzles me, because the meter
is only six years old!
I’ll appreciate any help.
Best Regards
Peter
