Advantest R6243 teardown and repare

Hi all

I scored this SMU for a steel. It would pass its self tests then throw a over heat error. After a bit of probing about I reverse engineered the temp sensing circuit and found that R91 was a dead short. After a little bit of soldering I have a working SMU.

I know has already been a teardown of this unit , so i won't repeat that and hopefully add to it.

This thing is deep 460mm from the front panel to the back and heavy 15kg, a third of the inside is the power transformers.

The board on top of the heatsink look like the high voltage board this might be the only difference between the R6243 (110v @ 2A) and the R6244(20v @ 10@)

Here I have its older sister, it's not every day you find a power supply (okay it's a SMU, a bit more posh =P) with Alpha bulk foils and a LM399 inside. I've seen the same unit use Alpha hermetic sealed resistors, looks like I picked the short straw though, oh well.

I've seen these pop-up from time to time and thought it would be interesting to get one and compare it to the one I have. Your wand it's a lot more modular than the one I have and my one doesn't have an lm399

One important point for the older TR6143, I don't think you can change the input AC supply voltage if buying one from overseas, I didn't see anything obvious anyway.

Look at the fuse holder / power input at the back. There may be a voltage setting there.

I couldn't find anything unfortunately, the unit has two transformers (I think) and they looked to be sealed up pretty well, the covers were folded in and not screwed on. I suspect the taps are hiding inside them but I gave up tearing the things down after 20 minutes.

My Advantest R6243  the test results in an error  +344 VSVM 110 V +FS
Voltage at the control points TP1,TP1, TP3, TP4, TP5, TP6, TP7 TP8 are too high
You can measure the voltage at the control points TP1,TP1, TP3, TP4, TP5, TP6, TP7 TP8?

I repaired the Advantest R6243 
Some resistors on the payment located over
radiator were in break.
Now everything works
But there were questions on tension on control points
You couldn't help me?
I made the plate
               TP9 GNDC
TP1 +139V =+165V     TP5 -139V =-165V
TP2 +91V  =+111V     TP6 -91V  =-111V
TP3 +55V  =+73V      TP7 -55V  =-73V
TP4 +31V  =+42V      TP8 -31V  =-42V

Just revived couple of those beasts!
3 cracked resistors and one TI's OPA627 opamp. The opamp was tough to figure out, it has inconsistent resistance disconnect inside it's case 
Not to mention OPA627 costs freaking $25 per piece. Funny fact, chinese even sell fake OPA627's wich have AD744 silicon under the hood: Original vs. Fake

BTW, anyone has some luck with Cal menu?
I don't have "Cal Switch Set" on mine units. GPIB command XENT also missing, but X? is present, so maybe Cal entering is hidden on earlier firmwares?
Any thoughts?

You don't have the "Cal Switch Set" menu entry because of your R6243 is working in the R6143 compatibility mode.

You can release this compatibility mode by pressing the MODE and DIRECT buttons then power on.

What error message did it show when faulty? which 3 resistors replaced?

Long time ago, but do you remember, have a picture or can make a picture of which resistors and which OPA627 was changed?
