ADVANTEST R5362A Frequency Counter Info?
« on: March 17, 2020, 04:04:40 am »
Hello:

Just picked up am Advantest 5362A for a very reasonable price. Wondering if anyone has documentation on the “A” series. I see information posted on the web about the “B” variant which looks close. Ideally, I would be really interested if someone knows of a source for schematics.

Finally, anyone have any feedback on this instrument? Not finding much in the way of online searching. Was planning on using it for some L-Band work I am doing.

Hi Serg:

Sorry for the delay in my response. I would like to thank you for contributing these documents and useful information!

I have downloaded them for safekeeping. After getting it, I found what I believe to be a frequency compensation capacitor (33pF Silver Mica) had opened up on the RF Path to input B (low frequency input). I replaced it with a 1KV NPO disc and it works wonderfully. Nonetheless, I love having copies of documentation for my instruments.

I really like the Advantest products. I have a R3267 with TG, and I think they really do make a quality instrument.

Hello.
I also like Advantest equipment, but I don’t like their policies regarding manuals and service manuals.
 Good luck!  :D

Hi Serg:

I was not aware of some adverse policy regarding manuals and service manuals. Is it that one must pay for it, or they just do not want to provide them period?

Hi guys.
Does anyone have a power circuit for this device?
Please share. I bought a faulty device. The old owner tried to fix it, but couldn't. I replaced all the exploded elements in the power supply, but there were no chips and a power transistor, they were removed by the old owner.
