I think you already researched that for yourself? https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/brymen-869s-vs-eevblog-bm786/msg4584223/#msg4584223

No, Dave didn't design it, he commissioned it from one of the Chinese DMM manufacturers.
Best Regards, Chris

Okay, I don't use it so a quick search showed for each thread you need it flagged to notify.

UEi is a Korean company, not Chinese.

Because of a lot of silly posts like this, it can be hard to find information on the forums.

There is a lot of info out there about the 121GW, and there are some nuances with regard to its positives and negatives.  Furthermore, some things have been discovered recently and some things have been fixed over time.

I did mention a few items I liked in that other thread.  Probably a good step would be to skim through the user manuals of all three DMMs and see what features are of interest to you?  Or state them outright here so we can analyze them.

Counterpoint: it's as good an answer as anything else to such a general and open ended question. I could give a 2 page comparison of features, ranges, and performance of a handful of comparable meters.  It would take me 45 minutes to write and would help nobody because if they cared they would have read the spec sheets and manuals to find the information themselves.

A question about specific features, first hand experiences and opinions, or anything more concrete would invite more helpful answers.

Counter to the counterpoint:
Except the question was due to inexperience and the answer was due to stupidity.  Objectively it's not even a valid answer whatsoever because the OP stated compared to the BM786 which is also blue.

If you don't want to spend the time to contribute something meaningful to the thread, then just don't post in that thread.

The information itself is readily available in the EEVBlog store.

https://www.eevblog.com/product/121gw/

In case you just aren't familiar with typical multimeters and want to know what stands out, the fairly unusual or unique features are the low-burden current circuit, SD card logging, the VA power measurement (although unfortunately it won't do mains power due to voltage limitations) and the 15V diode test voltage for LEDs and zeners.
A 3.5 digit 4.5 digit 5 digit 5.5 digit 6.5 digit 7.5 digit DMM is good enough for most people.

I seem to remember someone else having this same issue but sorry can't remember the solution.
IIRC there was a thread devoted to it so should be able to find it with the right keywords using the Search button net to Profile.
Meanwhile if I get a chance I'll keep looking for it too.
