So I know when to use ac coupling and differential probes. But what is the use case for ac coupled differential probes? Asking since besides rf stuff I can't imagine a use case where you would want ac coupling instead of dc. Maybe to reduce input capacitance a bit I can't think of anything else. Can anyone enlighten me please.
Also what is the proper schematic?

https://postimg.cc/23kn01nZThe upper one sort of makes more sense since it is symmetrical input but i am not sure if it is useful IRL since it will only probe pure AC signals
The lower one makes sense in the way that it uses a line as a reference then removes the DC offset from another line BUT it will distorts the thing that is probed a lot more on 1 line then the other .
Can someone please explain how AC coupled differential probes work ? or direct me to some good resources? (not sure if they even exist IRL [i sort of filled the gap in the probe types....)
