Nice experince with Siglent Website Support
« on: May 09, 2014, 09:50:13 pm »
Hi guys,

Today I had a very nice experience with the Siglent website support.
I was looking at their 2000 series scopes.

http://www.siglent.eu/oscilloscopes/sds-2000-series/mso-sds2204-200mhz-4-channel.html

When I looked down at the extra options I figured that I can only select one single option, not a combination.
So I left them a little note pointing that out.

In under a minute a chat window opened.
A nice guy/gal said "Hallo" and thanked me for the feedback.
He/she had a look at the problem and after, maybe 5 minutes he/she said "Ok, found the probem and fixed it"
I hit the refresh button and guess what : The select thing was completey changed and works now.

Wow, that was a quick respone. I am pretty much blown away  :-+

Unfortunately I didnt have time to chat more with her/him to maybe point out that they should send Dave a scope for a review and teardown. I would really love to see that one in his lab since it seems to be in the same class range like the Rigol's 2000/4000 are.

Cheers

Neat, I'm surprised tech support had access to do that.

Me too. That's what baffled me. Seems to be the one guy who does it all, support and website.

As a Siglent distributor, I can honestly say good. They answer all my queries in a timely fashion and when they are not sure I get quick tech support assistance.

I realize there are some out there that have had not so good experiences, I believe that mostly comes down to ones point of purchase support. Siglent have addressed this by opening more Tech support channels.

@ Chipguy
It was my understanding that Dave would get a SDS2000, but I would imagine Siglent would not do themselves any favors until all the firmware is sorted.

Ahh so it has got some firmware issues. ::)
Well, I hope Siglent will fix them soon and send Dave a scope for review and teardown.
It's out since December IIRC so it's out in the wild since 6 month. Plently of time to review customer complains about the firmware and to have them fixed.

If they could be so fast as they were with the website (5 minutes from complain to fix)  ^-^

No firmware issues as such, the SDS2000 has been in markets worldwide undergoing final development for western markets. Limited numbers were sent out in December for appraisal and feedback. It was released in March for worldwide sale. No doubt there will be firmware releases to fix bugs or improve the UI as is the case with many products these days.

Be careful with your assumptions that this is Siglent. In fact the web site is run by one person.....

It certainly looked like that it was a very flat hierachy, can't be any more flat with only one guy running it all.

In the meantime I found a video from MJ Lorton on youtube where he does a quick review of the Siglent 2000 scope.

Yep, the nice guy's name is Jonas Rijnders.
He will be your man within the EU if you need to buy anything from Siglent.

I think it's nice to have that all done by a small company / 1 guy.
I does not cost as much as an blown up office with lots of people fighting each other about how important they are  :)
Thats how they can make these price tags.

He also has web sites called
maynuo.eu, atten.eu,  Quansheng,eu .....

Not everybody has good experiences with this web shop(s). Like claiming they have stuff in stock, while their actually not having it.

I know, he provided me with that information as well.
Can you provide a link to a feedback or something like it that your claim about bad service is based upon?

I was not able to find anything.

It was on a local forum here in the Netherlands, I don't find it anymore. Anyhow, if your going to deal with him be careful.
