HP 54120B digital 'scope mainframe

Hey all -

The colour display on my "obsolete" 'scope appears to be a very nice Trinitron or similar, and is working just fine.

However, it would be nice to not use it when possible, so as to save wear and tear.

So... did HP reinvent the wheel, or is it more-or-less an SVGA monitor with a ribbon connector rather than a mini DB-15?

Has anyone experience interfacing this beast to an external monitor...?
