MC34063ECD-TR How to wire it for 3.3v?
« on: June 16, 2013, 01:44:21 am »
I'm trying to build up a 3.3v power supply and would like to use a MC34063ECD-TR the input will be 24vac half wave rectified and  I need 3.3v @ around 1 amp. I've looked at the data sheet and can't figure out how to size the components. The way I understand it is it uses a 1.25 volt internal reference and switches the output on if the feedback is below that and off if above? So I need to change resistor value accordingly correct? Also the inductor determines the efficiency and max output current correct? So how do i determine the value of that?  Those are the two things I'm struggling with. I'll put a link to the datasheet. I know there are several swithing regulators like this one and the all look to be the same to set up. This one seems to be the lowest cost solution that fits what I'm needing. Any help is appreciated Thanks

Have you watched Dave's video on this? He did a pretty good video on the MC34063.

No longer active here - try the IRC channel if you just can't be without me :)
