Fluke 867 vs 867b
« on: March 01, 2020, 07:50:16 pm »
Hi,

I'm looking at buying a used Fluke 867 and i see there are some opinions that the 867B is a limited function meter for most of todays tasks.

I'm wondering if the 867 is even worth considering for a beginner looking to play around with the hobby or if I would be wasting my money on this meter.

Does anyone know what the differences are between the 867 and the 867B? Product literature seems to be hard to come across for some reason when I do a google search.

Thanks

I own a Fluke867B and is good to have the basic oscilloscope function ... very accurate but is big and not very portable but I use it on the bench .
Fluke867 display can be seen without the backlight allways on , probably much better battery life if you care .

i anticipate it being a field use tool also so the battery life is something important to me. Is the backlight function different in operation between the 867 and 867B? or is the 867B only visible with the backlight on?

867 doesn't have backlight at all as far as I know
867B backlight is allways on , otherwise you couldn't see the display
