Oh dear:  all my vacuum-tube electronics operates well above 3 V applied to resistors of various types.
(Back in the 1970s, when A-B carbon composition resistors were popular, it was normal to apply 300 or 500 V across high-resistance 2 W resistors.)
I went to the trouble of sending the company an e-mail demanding where they got the absurd article about resistor voltages.

Even more ridiculous than their mis-information on resistor voltage ratings.

I like the statement: "AC or DC current can flow through an inductor, but not simultaneously." 

Makes me wonder how I ever managed to get any of my switching PSU designs to work.

Depends how you interpret "alternating" in AC.  If you mean the current direction reverses, then that statement is sort of correct.  If you interpret AC as meaning the non-DC component of a waveform its false.  But we abuse the notation horrendously all the time, since we talk of AC voltages...
