i have a homebrew atu i has an aluminium open frame with a steel painted front and sheet steel bottom,can i use metal sheet for the top and sides or is plywood better,thinking of circulating rf currents using metal.whats best?.

Aluminium is OK provided your coils are not too close to the case.
