At least if you're in Australia you might have seen these at Aldi and been curious as to what's inside them and their transmitting range.
This video answers some of your questions. I open them up and do a range test.

What's the chipset? Inquiring minds want to know for the 2.2 to 2.4 Ghz ham band. With suitable improments, mmic amps and filtering for harmonics added of course.
