I keep my favourite tools in a coffee mug on the desktop,  it's only about 7 or 8 tools,  some screwdrivers,  small pliers,  pokey things,  small cutters,  scalpel,  that's about it! Other stuff I keep in drawers,  otherwise too cluttered. :-)
