DSE T2200 Soldering Station
« on: May 30, 2016, 11:23:17 pm »
I was given this T2200 which appears to have had very little use. The receipt in the box shows it was purchased in 2007. These stations were long in the tooth by then as I remember owning one of these in the 90's although mine was blue and had a slightly different hand piece, it was essentially the same DSE station made by XYtronic.

Was not working (possibly never did which would explain the little use). Couple of badly soldered joints next to each other, works well now, little slow to heat up but a nice station overall. Came with all of the documentation, box and accessories including tips. When just starting out, these were an excellent first soldering station, decent build quality, and were generally very reliable stations even over years of abuse.

If you can find one of these they sell for about the same price as a 936 clone.

Edit: Added pic from box highlighting a unique capability of this soldering station.

Very nice for a freebie, especially when it took so little to make it work.

At least he keeps his fingers clear from the business end of the soldering iron so that is one step in the right direction (see stock image fail threads). And perhaps he's rewiring a pot or switch.
