teardown of xtar wp2 II li-ion charger
« on: May 17, 2012, 08:02:37 am »
i disassembled my charger jsut to see whats inside, all chip markings blanked so i have no idea what the manufacturer or part number, tried to desolder the positive terminals but it didnt work, finally managed to pull it out from the plastic casing, 1 poorly seated cap, which almost punctured by the plastic casing and deformed by the leads, i twisted a little back from them cos it was almost shorted

The layout is really absymal ... they should have made the pcb larger and the box larger if they were to make a layout this size, just look at the topwards capacitor on the topside! It looks like it's gonna commit suicide any moment  ::)

if you notice the capacitor on the second picture you can see its top almost punctured by the plastic due to bad seating :), gonna replace all of those chang branded caps on this, smd parts looks like machine assembled but the trough hole, its a mess
