I have this 60v version. 
How did you get that IC off? I tried to remove the capacitors and replace them with Nichicon but that ground plane needed a lot of heat  :(
I got it off with hot air gun. Capacitors are trickier, plastic starts melting etc.
Another way to drive led from 48v battery is to use this ridiculously cheap 600W DC-DC converter and put 2x100W leds in series.
Its weird that those LM2596 60v version is not available from Mouser, Digikey etc. Only some on Ebay. I'm afraid that these are fakes. ???

I've used a few of the LM2596 based converters for hobby projects, but would never try to draw the claimed max current from them.

When I've used them to drop 30V down to 5.5V @ 750mA they've not given me any trouble.

Yes you already know for certain that these are fakes because this is the same seller as the fake modules in the youtube clip @2.30 in your previous post  ;)

Here is my  knock-off. The chip is marked JM2596S-Adj., 35v caps in and out.

@ 20vin, 5v/0.5amp out. ripple is about 75mvpp. voltage output stayed at 5v.

@ no load, ripple is negligible.

I have another that with 50v caps and it behaves the same.
