Pathetic threadjacking attempt.

Pathetic or not, this is a contribution of 20-30 people, what makes you think that you worth more than them ?
And for your information there is a Private messaging system in this forum, use it if you need any special clarifications.

Let me show you my true talent then...
This HP 34401A had a tough life until I rescue it and brought back to life for $170 plus a few hours elbow grease and diagnostic...

Same method was used to treat the dirt and grease, dish washing liquid plus melamine foam/magic eraser, scrubbing pad and toothbrush. I will attack the plastic VFD display window with some multi-grit diamond glass polish in syringes, I find those Very Good. Start from coarse end with ultra fine grit.

As for how to fix the error, I won't discuss here and mess up the thread. It's just those opamps around the A/D converters. PM me if you need info.

I thought this is regarding refurbishing so I posted what I did to my very greasy and dirty fluke. If you don't like it then I won't chime in to your post again, my apologies.

I was talking to kiriakos, not you -  see I quoted him. I appreciate your contribution to the thread.

Nice work Nukie, were all those devices in similar condition when you aquired them?

Where are you finding all these hospital cases?

Some picked up from ebay, some from dovebid, and a friend who deals with used equipment in China. They were acquired separately over a period of years. I'm just worried about their age and longevity. Most of my gear are made in the late 80s, with a Fluke 8840A maybe late 70s.

Some are too old not worth refurbishing, as they have little life left in them especially those with aging storage memory.

http://www.techrentals.com.au/ has sales on their used equipment once a while. I got a HP 3468A for $180 with recent calibration papers a three years ago.

I just picked up this 25kg Fluke 335A 0-1000v from local http://www.tmgtestequipment.com.au/ recently. It's just massive look at that ATX psu on it. Unfortunately it's not the 335D but these equipment don't appear every day I just have to snag it up and it was a once in a lifetime bargain. I can just drive there and pick it up. Unfortunately bargain didn't turn out, I don't think the analog meter works. I will do the electronics refurbishing and start a new topic on it.
