I have a used Metcal transformer unit (STSS-PS2V-02) from eBay and thought to complement it with a new handpiece MX-H1-AV (and the corresponding tips).
Unfortunately, the F connectors do not match. They have the same diameter (9.5mm outer diameter), but different thread pitches. The transformer unit looks like regular pitch, while the connector on the handpiece side seems to have some fine pitch thread.
Does anyone know the problem and/or have any suggestion? Replacing the connector on the handpiece side would be the most plausible option, but I am somewhat reluctant to treat some brand-new equipment with pliers and knives.
