Thermaltronics TMT-HA200 hot air gun
« on: April 05, 2016, 04:34:56 pm »
I just ran across the Thermaltronics TMT-HA200 when looking at hot air stations. Not much available in terms of user reviews / teardowns etc. though.

http://www.thermaltronics.com/tmt-ha200.php

Does anyone have hands-on experience with these? How well does it work? How are the quality & the internals, better than the ubiquitous 858D or not?

They also sell the TMT-HA300 which appears to be equivalent to e.g. the Aoyue 852, and that makes me a bit wary...

No experience here, but for me it looks bad design to have turbine placed in work peace makes it bulky and spinning close to your ears . I would understand it for cheap 50$ rework station.
If i am correct Thermaltronics positioned in the middle price range and i personally satisfied with their soldering station TMT-2000S-PM, but would avoid HA200 unless it is ~50$  :-DD and thus it should be avoided anyway.
UPDATE: And i didn't see it on sale yet.
