Someone posted a bug report for minipro, the Linux-based program for controlling a Minipro TL866 chip burner about floating point exceptions when reading or writing GALs.  In the device attributes file, all GALs have a read_buffer_size and write_buffer_size value of 0x00.  I don't know anything about the low level details of GAL programming.  Could I get someone to wander on over to https://github.com/vdudouyt/minipro/issues/96 and take a look?
