A visit with JBC USA
« on: October 01, 2015, 12:32:52 pm »
Trying to troubleshoot a JBC AD2200 soldering station was difficult without extra pieces to swap to localize the problem: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/repair/jbc-ad2200-soldering-station/msg750082/#msg750082.

Because I was traveling through St. Louis, I called JBC USA, and Katie Bright said that they would help with that.  At their location, Kathy Morrow quickly determined that the problem was in the old handpiece.  I bought a new handpiece and we spoke a bit about different JBC stations and usage.

They were both helpful and friendly, and said that people were often surprised that they actually had JBC equipment on hand for examination and purchase.  They were not aware of the EEVblog (which will probably soon change :)), but said it would be okay to post a message about them here.

They would probably appreciate a call before people visit.  Also, please realize that both Google Maps and Garmin GPS systems show the wrong location for 9296 Dielman Industrial Drive.  Their real location is about a block south.  Enter 9260 for a street address on Google Maps to get closer.  Or go to the wrong location and go south.  When the street turns east, turn west into the parking lot of the small strip mall: street view.  There is a JBC sign in their window.
